Your houseplants have been living on tap water and good intentions. Isn't it time they ate properly?
Gourmet Houseplant Food is a natural plant feed made from two humble ingredients: spent coffee grounds, collected by hand from cafés across Manchester, and worm castings from our slow-matured wormery in Chorlton. Together they make a gentle, nutrient-rich “tea” that feeds your plants and the soil they live in.
What’s on the menu
Spent coffee grounds – What’s left after Manchester’s morning espresso rush. Instead of heading to landfill, the grounds are rescued, fed to worms and given a second career as plant food. They add organic matter to the soil and help support healthy growth.
Worm castings – Or, to use the technical term, worm poop. Our worms digest coffee grounds and waste and turn it into castings, one of the most prized soil improvers there is. They’re rich in nutrients and beneficial microbes, and gentle enough that they won’t burn roots.
How to serve
- Decant the contents of the pouch into a watering can and fill with 5 litres of water.
- Leave to infuse overnight, giving it a stir now and then.
- Water your plants as normal, dregs and all. The leftover grounds and castings can go straight onto the soil.
Good to know
- Suitable for most houseplants, plus patio pots and veg planters.
- Made from 100% natural, recycled ingredients, with no synthetic chemicals.
- For plants only, not for human consumption. However tempting the coffee smell, please don’t drink it.
- Use the entire pouch, don't store it. You can also compost the pouch itself.
- Pouch size: 100g
